I have thought about how to break the ice with friends you believe would get naked to get them past whatever is holding them back. I have not come up with any real good answers. The best is to just invite them into the hot tub when you know they did not bring swim suits. I have not tried it myself though.
It's probably better not to spring that on anyone. Let them know ahead of time about your preference for friends to join you in the hot tub in the nude. Emphasize the wholesome aspects of doing that.

In the few seconds after my wife offered me the small towel to cover myself with, I gave it some serious thought. My wife and I were both social nudists at the time of the incident, but we had never been nude in front of non-nudist friends before. Also, I had just met her girlfriend shortly before the incident and didn't know her well. I didn't want to offend her. Maybe her friend wouldn't have minded since she knew that I hadn't planned to be caught in that situation, but I couldn't know that at the time. I think that my wife would have been fine with my being almost naked in front of her friend. She would have thought that it was funny.
I recently went on holiday with a female friend. We are more like brother and sister so no romantic feelings at all. Because it was just the 2 of us and wed rented a house with a private pool I thought it better to ask if shed mind if I sunbathed naked. She thanked me for asking and said she had no issues. I spent the rest of the holiday naked but she didnt feel confident enough to join me. Its a shame that she didnt feel comfortable in her own skin but oh well, maybe next time.
