Please excuse me if anyone is offended as my above post was not about a woman and her breasts. The idea of pressing on with life after difficult events applies to everyone. I thought his perspective was about as spot-on as you could ask.
Scars are the reminders we have, of the things we've survived in our lives. I lost my first wife to breast cancer years ago. During her fight, she had a single mastectomy. She was a nudist like myself, and I wondered how that would affect her outlook. Much to my surprise, she didn't let it faze her in the least. She more thankful to be alive, than be concerned about the loss of her breast or what anyone thought about her appearance .
Years later, I was in car accident, that resulted in rupturing my spleen. Unfortunately, it wasn't discovered until several days after the accident. Since I had been slowly bleeding out internally, the surgery required that they cut me open from just below my ribcage down to about 6 inches below my belly button, which they zigzagged around. That of course, left me with a rather prominent scar. After seeing how my late wife handled her scars, I couldn't see doing it any other way.
The person I admire.second to my Mother.is a friend/mentor that also had a double mastectomy due to cancer. At a motorcycle some people were flashing and she flashed them back, reconstruction surgery did not work for her. She flashed with her scar tissue and I immediately thought she was amazing for doing that. I thought . That was awesome, here I am being self conscious about my body, there she is accepting who she is. Im brand new to this and have not been to any nudist places, but I dont think there would be any issue because thats what the nudist life style is about, not judging.
My partner of very longstanding had her breasts removed a very long time ago. Genetic testing made it clear, after her sister sadly got breast cancer very young. She had tattooed nipples which faded away eons ago. She still looks like she had her breasts removed.
And she looks absolutely gorgeous.
Its about looking the way you should look as your best self,
Or whatever self you feel comfortable bringing in the moment.

I haven't seen anyone yet but can assure you that I have seen a couple of people in transition, there is a bit of a myth that nudists don't look. Yes we do same as someone clothed you have a quick look its natural. The difference is we don't judge, as a man who is very overweight i'd rather go to a nude spa or swimming pool than one where clothes are worn i feel less self conscious. Maybe try a spa or club first if possible go on a very quiet day or early soon you will see nobody looking
I don't have reconstructed, just slightly odd-looking adult-estrogen-grown breasts. I tend to mostly frequent nudist beaches that are very well-known for being trans-friendly. Not just welcoming, but regularly frequented by non-normies. Nobody has ever cared about my breasts. I suspect, based on the description you gave, that nobody would care about you or your wife either. Interesting breasts (in good all ways) are part of the experience. We learn to not comment.
