First topic I hope sets the tone for this group.

My intent for this group is to foment discussion on being nude around non nudist folks and how accepting they are of your/my/our/ones nudity among them.
There is a gentleman named Peter who's website I ran across a number of years ago who seems to lead a very nude existence. It intrigues me. How does one find acceptance for their proclivity for nudity among others who prefer to remain clothed? The story is told how a nudist went on a ski outing with a group of "textiles" and when they arrived at the cabin where they were staying the nudist said he was going to get more comfortable left the crowd and emerged again nude and remained so throughout the stay when in the cabin. All of his friends being aware of his proclivity for nudity.
How common is this sort of thing?
I have been on weekend outings, and on vacation with folks that were aware of my proclivity for nudity but even then I had to keep my nudity very discrete.
Thats the discussion i'd like to generate. Also, maybe some advice on how to achieve this ideal.

I am naked wherever I can.
But I am not a missionary.
With others it is a matter of agreement.
My friends and my family all know that I am a nudist and that I rather not wear clothes in their presence.
Some approve on this and some dont.
I always respect this. And it doesnt matter if this is at my place or their place.

RE:First topic I hope sets the tone for this group.

I grew up nude and my mom kind of beat into me that when we were home we do as we wish, however, at someone elses home we ask what they were comfortable with. Sometimes that has meant I was the only nude person in the house, but I had their blessing to be. This sometimes led to others "trying it" or it gave them permission to do what they always wanted to. I think its just rude to do whatever you want in any circumstance without regard for other peoples feelings, that goes for people putting their religious beliefs on others without their consent, or pushing their political views on the peoples home that they are a guest in (we have all met that person and universally they are hated).

If we are to promote the nude life we really need to show that we are inclusive of everyone and accepting of others feelings, When we would go to my aunt and uncles house, they started out being adamant that everyone be clothed, it slowly turned to "you can do what you want but we feel better if we stay dressed", until finally my uncle and cousins would shed everything once we got there and my aunt would sometimes even go topless. So I think if we stay true to our beliefs and let others know what our beliefs are yet, stay polite and cognizant of others feeling we will ultimately win more people over.

That being said, I do actually enjoy being nude when others are clothed. Hiking is better while nude and striding past a group of clothed hikers. Love when people tell me they dont mind if I am nude while they are not. Somehow it makes me feel even more nude, and damn it I like it.

Seems that all the groups anymore are dead. Even when there is a recent post or reply, nobody usually responds. Anyway, I actually searched for this group by name because I met a lady around labor day last year. (I responded to her ad looking for someone to give her rides to work.) Anyhow, one of the first things I told her is that I am a nudist, and asked if she minded if I drove naked. She did not, and we have been friends ever since. She is extrememly modest. She has spend the night on my couch a few times (platonic friend) and has never even removed her socks. Her daughter recently moved to stay near her, and she is the same way. (In fact she went with me to Cedar Trails in Ohio, and got topless, (but refused to strip all the way and thus stayed in the campsite). It is important to me that I know she (they) are really okay with my nudity. She is not the most expressive of people, and always just says "its fine". After several months, I found her in a good mood and told her how much I appreciated having her in my life. She responded with "you are the best friend a girl could ever have". I almost teared up, so I responded with a joke. "Its not every girl who has a friend that runs around naked all the time". She responded that that was true, and then I commented that "I bet that helps". She responded "Yea".. That is the first time she has ever given any indication at all that she leaned more towards LIKE instead of just being FINE with it. I made a deal with myself a few years ago. Any new people who enter my life in a social setting, will know and accept my nudism. (If not--well-- there are plenty of other potential friends out there.
