Blast from the past.....Mazo
Anyone here remember going to Mazo Beach a stitch north of Madison?
I know that it has been closed for a while, but I went down the trail (mosquitos stull drained about 2 pints) and went skinny dipping on a Tuesday. No one around and did not see anyone the entire day. I was worried that someone was going to call on my parked car, so I was only there an hour.
Missed this place and wished politicians would get their shit together and bring this back.

When I was in high school my church group went on a canoe trip right past Mazo. It was the 70s and people were more chill. I just figured that's what they did in Wisconsin. I remember a lot of pale white guys with hairy dicks, no women, no concern that a group of teens were paddling by, no shame, no care and I wished I could have joined them.
I started going to Mazo in the late 70s and would camp at Cedar Hills Campground. Mazo was a great place to enjoy being outdoors without clothes. Couples, families, young and old enjoyed friendly conversations and frequent volleyball games. There was the unofficial mayor and a couple of regulars who ensured that people behaved themselves and would confront those few who did not. I do miss it.
I used to love going to Mazo! It was nice to be in a natural setting where you didnt have to pay to get in. I used to love getting in the water, floating down the river to the bottom of the beach, walking back to where my towel and water bottle were, and the doing it again.
