Touring USA and camping in a Prius

My basic plan is to divide the United States up into four quadrants.i have a Toyota Prius because it's very cheap on the gas and great as a camping vehicle. Visiting nudist resorts and national parks
Each trip around spend 3 or 4-month trip in each quadrant start Phoenix end up in Phoenix and then probably take a month or two to get prepared for the next quadrant.
Has anyone done this ?
