Nude In Public

Getting nude in public seems to be getting more and more. What are your views on this. Also have you ever tried it out.

Normalising nudity

Return to Discussions

Looking at the topics here there seems a reasonably common theme which is to just be normal when nude if seen by others. There was a group in the site called Normalising nudity or something close to that. It's not in my groups anymore, so not sure what happened to that one. However, if any of us is nude in a place where others may see us and they do, just keep doing what you were doing, act normal, nudity is normal, everyone is nude at some time each day.

I've just been away camping with my partner and she is not a nudist. She used to joke about me being nude, thinking it was for other reasons but is now quite used to it and is ore relaxed herself now getting changed in our caravan. There is very little privacy but if you are discrete and normal and don't try to make a scene, others will just glance and move on I found. I was even outside at times especially as we packed up and she did not bother about it, not sure if others even took much notice. If I had been standing outside naked talking to every passer by then that would be different in our world (although it shouldn't).

RE:Normalising nudity

I tend to agree - when non-nudies see there is nothing lewd or criminal going on then most tend to just go about their business.

Non-nudies are conditioned to be believe that being nude is a 'warm up' or precursor to something sexual. But in some ways you cant blame them. Nigh on every nudist beach has been tainted by the proclivities of some, who may not even be a nudie....

yes I believe you are correct. Society has conditioned people to be suspicious of nudism to expect the worst they can imagine it to all be about instead of people just enjoying the sun and breeze on our skins and the natural beauty of the body being seen openly without shame.

RE:Normalising nudity

As others have said in this thread I think that nudists should be able to enjoy life without clothing in more ways and that doing so publicly could help to normalise nudity. If nudists hide away behind walls, fences and gates that can imply that we've got something to hide about nude socialising. I've just returned home from a two week stay at a nudist club, it is wonderful to be nude 24/7 with like-minded people, but we're all confirmed nudists there. I also visit local public nude beaches, that is where we can help to normalise public nudity much better.
