- Went for a 7 mile hike today. Saw one golden eagle, two red tail hawks, a blue jay, and badger and woodchuck den entrances and heard a few woodpeckers and a turkey. It was a last minute decision to go after weather watching. The nasty stuff went to the north (hope everyone up that way is okay), so I went a bit south.

- After a 16 mile textile bicycle ride in the morning, I did a 5 mile hike in the early afternoon (limited time due to storm rolling in). Was good to get out. And a great horned owl and I stared at each other in our natural state of dress.

We've been to Mazo beach, Valley View, Sun Ray Hills, Blue Lake, Green Valley, Lake O' the Woods, Sunshower, Glen Eden, DeAnza Springs, Desert Sun, Shangri La, Mira Vista, Oaklake Trails, Bare Oaks ... some once, some several times ... and many Chicago Fun Club events.
