I am Pallavi, 48 years old, living near Kaup Beach outside Mangalore. For most of my life I have chosen to live nude. I have been a nudist since the age of nine and still love the simple, free feeling of being completely uncovered. What began on quiet, secluded stretches of beach gradually became a natural way of spending most of my time outdoors. Public beaches, open spaces, and everyday places where it is possible are where I feel most at ease. New dares and quiet challenges keep the experience fresh, but the core has never changed: I simply prefer my body free of covering.
Clothes have always felt like an unnecessary and irritating layer that sticks to the skin and interferes with the sense of being present. For me nudism is a presence of mind. It is the opposite of the artificial, covered state that most people accept without question. I am a pure cloth-hater in the clearest senseclothes are a strict taboo in my daily life whenever circumstances allow. My family understands this and supports the choice. They know it is not a phase or a performance; it is simply how I am most comfortable and most myself.
Living this way in and around Mangalore has brought its share of reactions. Family members and neighbours sometimes shake their heads and call the lifestyle mad. Local police have seen me enough times that they mostly look weary rather than alarmed. There is little point in trying to change minds that are already made up, so I continue quietly and consistently. The beach, the open air, and the absence of fabric remain more important than other peoples opinions.
I keep the practice decent and personal. It is not about shock or display for its own sake. It is about removing the constant barrier between skin and air, about moving freely, and about staying true to a preference that has been part of me for nearly four decades. Whether on the quieter ends of Kaup or further along the coast, the same principle applies: when it is possible to be nude, that is how I prefer to be.
